ANOTHER FORM OF MEDITATION

Life has become extremely stressful these days due to the pressures of changing world and mismatch between the expectations/ aspirations and realities that it sometimes seems to just spin out of control with one problem after another. Many questions remain unanswered, and the issues are left unresolved. Yet amid this outer turmoil there is place where one can find peace and understanding and the world of unlimited potential and promise. This heaven of beauty and love lies within us. The easiest and most dependable way to tune inside is through meditation. Meditation is a process whereby we balance our emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual selves in our natural state of being.

But is sitting in silence only way to meditate? A few days ago while talking to a friend, I realized how good quality communication, be it in person, telephonic or online, takes us to the state of meditation (I would not call it chatting, since its rhetorical meaning somehow undermines the value of the quality communication that I am talking about). The experience of good communication has the power to turn us inside, activate positive energies, look within us and gain divine insights. At times, when I am not able to solve major issues or problems alone, talking to someone really helps in finding out the answers. The most surprising thing is, most of the time the answers do not come from some one else but from within, however, the idea here is not to undervalue the different perspective that is possible through such interaction with like minded friends. The interaction provokes and stimulates to reflect, introspect and arrive at solutions hitherto evading me.  It enables me to move into consciousness of real knowing when I focus my attention inwardly, either through catharsis or through reflections; I start to become aware of my true self. My doubts, insecurities and anxieties diminish in size because I am no longer separated from my own self, even if it is for a few minutes.

It can only be possible when I trust the person in front of me completely in an unconditional, non-judgmental way. He or she then becomes the true reflection of my soul. Good communication certainly helps me a lot in growing psychologically, emotionally and spiritually. I become aware of my strengths and weaknesses through confessions and learn to accept myself the way I am.  It taps my creative energy and guides me to be aware of as well as accept myself and my surroundings in a better manner.  It takes me to spiritual thought process where there is no divide between mind and soul. I have found it through out all testing times how quality communication with a close friend can lead to soul searching through which the negativity around me turns into positive energy and I become more compassionate, forgiving and free from fears.

PS. The theme of this blog is dedicated to a very few friends who have  been with me during difficult times,  in my quest to search answers and journey within. I take opportunity to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart no matter how close or far , known or unknown, seen/ felt or just the fragrance of faceless entitity you are for taking me through the purity of thought process with utomost honesty, non judgemental and unconditional attention, and sharing the richness of your own expereinces and perspectives.
